Austral imagery, spirituality and the visual memory of the territory at the end of the world.
View at estebanbustos.comUna Sombra Austral is a collection of nine digital illustrations that travels through the far south of Chile: its landscapes, its light and the presences that inhabit the memory of the territory.
The collection is born from visual research into the myths and legends of the austral south: the fog, the cold sea, the forests and the silhouettes that appear when the light runs out. Each piece proposes a portrait between the real and the spiritual, with a nocturnal palette and cinematic atmospheres.
Una Sombra Austral has been exhibited at Centro Cultural Estación Mapocho, at the Santiago Horror festival and at Mercado Puerto in Valparaíso, where it opened a group show alongside more than one hundred artists.
